Lexus‘ Versus and Flow series, now in its 4th season on TV One, is much more than entertaining. The luxury automotive brand has stepped into the higher learning realm with scholarships to Historically Black Universities and Colleges.
The creation of the Lexus Verses and Flow Scholarship, a program that will award students at our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for their academic excellence as well as their community involvement.
Selected universities and colleges include: Howard University (Washington, DC), Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA), Florida A&M University (Tallahassee, FL), Grambling State University (Grambling, LA), Hampton University (Hampton, VA), LeMoyne-Owen College (Memphis, TN), Morehouse College (Atlanta, GA), North Carolina A&T University (Greensboro, NC), Spelman College (Atlanta, GA), and Xavier University (New Orleans, LA).
The LEXUS Verses and Flow scholarship commenced August 18, 2014. The final deadline for submission is September 12, 2014. The final deadline for submision is September 12, 2014.
A $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to two (2) deserving students of the selected HBCUs.
Hosted by Howard University alum Laz Alonzo, Verses and Flow brings together some of the coolest R&B artists like Maxwell and Johnny Gill and prolific poets like Malcom-Jamal Warner, Joshua Bennet and Zora Howard in a sexy environment.
