Volkswagen has always had a lot of swag in their product line-up and the 2014 Passat Sport is no exception. From the onset, the Passat Sport is a game changer. Staying true to the excitement that was generated through its predecessor, the Passat Performance Concept that was unveiled at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, the Passat Sport has taken the baton and is running full speed towards the finish line.
On approach, the Passat Sport greets you with a contrasting body and roof combo and sleek profile. The piano black roof; carried over from the concept version is the perfect eye-catching feature of this new edition to the Volkswagen family. Crisp lines coupled with just the right amount of stainless steel accents bring out the character and expose the sporty vibe of the sedan. A chrome grille nestled on top of a honeycomb air vent, 19-inch Luxor wheels and rear spoiler offer up an edgy persona.
Getting around in the Passat Sport proved to be thrilling via the 1.8-liter EA888 turbocharged and direct-injection 4-cylinder engine. The 6-speed automatic transmission kicks into gear without hesitation and sends you on a power-filled ride. Pushing out 170 ponies and thrusting 184 lb-ft of torque, the Passat Sport lives up to all the hype when it was first revealed in the Motor City. Whipping around corner and barreling down the highway (of course obeying the speed limit), the Passat uphold up its namesake…Sporty.
Filled to the brim with stylish features like carbon-trimmed and top-stitched accents, Volkswagen’s Car-Net™ a Premium VIII color touchscreen sound system with HD Radio, heated contrasting front seats, rearview camera, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, the Passat Sport has all the creature comforts for an urban warrior.
Hats off to Volkswagen for bringing the Passat Sport to life…what a wonderful concept!
