Ford Motor Company has a long history of adding a fun element to the driving experience of its vehicle line-up and the Escape is no exception. Just because it comes in a smaller package doesn’t mean it should be any less dynamic or powerful…and Ford fully understands that. The recent redesign puts the Escape on a level playing field with its more expensive counterparts. The Escape even makes you smile at first glance. Sharing the same DNA as the Ford Focus, the Escape takes similar design cues, but rides in it own lane. Smooth lines, subtle amounts chrome and contrasting black accents like the grille, give the Escape a sporty, yet fun feel.
From the first touch of the Push Button Start, the Escape is agile in its maneuvering; especially in tight parking spaces, the Escape offers fluid and quick responses. Ripping and rolling down the highways, the Escape is no shrinking violet. Navigating through winding roads or hitting the straight a ways, the 4-wheel drive coupled with a 6-speed Select Shift Automatic Transmission powered by 2.0-liter EcoBoost Engine, the Escape rises up to any occasion. The drive of the Escape was just as solid and smooth as other more expensive SUVs in its segment. As a bonus, a combined 24-MPG, the Escape is economical as well.
The interior of the Escape is relaxed and sporty. The leather wrapped seats and steering wheel kick up the sporty factor inside the Escape and the MYFORD TOUCH add that tech savvy element. Ambient lightening and illuminated entry features enhance the sexy smooth factor of the Escape. Syncing and navigating through the MYFORD TOUCH system was pretty seamless. SYNC Voice Activated System increased the safety factor of the Escape. Juggling a hectic schedule, The MYFORD TOUCH system allows the driver to focus on getting from point A to B, instead of fumbling with the controls.
Escape’s style factor goes in to overdrive with the sleek panoramic sunroof that frames the sky above.
Speaking of safety, the Escape comes with a plethora of airbags, a perimeter alarm, SOS Post Crash Alert System, Rear View Camera and tire pressure monitor system.
The Titanium package gives this small SUV a high end feel with out breaking the bank. For an additional $1,735, the Titanium Package adds HID Automatic Headlamps, Blind Spot Detection System (BLIS), Navigation, and 19” Alloy Luster Nickel Wheels and Active Park Assist.
Its no secret that the sound system is extremely important to the Diva’s driving experience. The piano black façade of the Premium Sony sound system with HD Radio and SIRIUS Satellite service houses a concert quality audible experience. After tweaking the EQ to my specifications it was on a poppin’! With Maxwell, Jonathan Butler and Stevie Wonder wafting through the inner cabin, I felt like I was front and center at my own private concert hall.
