Scion’s 2013 FR-S Coupe…The Everyday Racer!

2013_frsA new player in the game has been holding court on the streets of Southern California. The new 2013 Scion FR-S is sleek and sporty as it rips up the asphalt on every ride. The ‘everyday’ race car screams ‘catch me if you can’ and it doesn’t disappoint on the road. To be honest, I think the FR-S is the reason why cars are named after women. The sexy, curvaceous and alluring body of this coupe could be an ATL stripper to shame.  The lines of the FR-S cascade up and over the hood, flair around the rear spoiler and drop down and flow into the rear fascias.  Much the performer, the diamond shaped lower brake light is flanked by to two emerald shaped reverse lights and chrome tipped exhaust pipes adding a sexy appeal to the FR-S.

2013-scion-fr-s_interior1The inner cabin of the FR-S drips with race car DNA. Minimalistic by nature, the FR-S isn’t overwrought with unnecessary excess. Carbon fiber inlays across the dash, contrasting stitched leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear shifter add a little inner personality to the FR-S.  A 300-watt, 8-Speaker Pioneer sound system with iPod Connectivity and Bluetooth capabilities offer all the creature comforts.

2013-Scion-FR-S-interiorIn true race car form, the Bolstered Sport Seats are made to hug your hips…and oh boy, do they! If you have some extra cushion for the pushin’, this might not be the ride for you.  The coupe is just that…a two-seater. While there is a back seat, its functionality is more suited for your purse or a few bags of groceries.

The 2.0 Liter 4-Cylinder Boxer DOHC 16V 200 HP engine coupled with a 6-Speed Seq. Automatic Transmission powers the ride of the FR-S. If you really want the ‘track’ vibe opt for the Paddle Shifters when rolling out.. Digital/Analog Speedometer, Analog Tachometer with Programmable Rev Indicator momentarily transports you to the starting gate at Daytona. The FR-S grips the road like the 17” alloy wheels were injected with crazy glue. The FR-S hugs the road so tight, that of you rolled over a quarter you could tell if it was heads or tails. The Electronic Power Steering allows the driver to bend corners like nobody’s business.

The FR-S goes hard in the paint when it comes to style and performance. A ‘drifters’ the FR-S offers up street legal euphoria.
