The Big and Sexy SUV Series…2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4X2…Big Sexy Rides Again!

I knew I was in something special when some of my friends where waiting by the 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4X2 after an event.  The musicians who carry their instruments around from gig and the parents with children who were looking for more space were waiting to grill me on what the Expedition had to offer. The Car Diva never turns down a chance to offer up some unbiased insight, so the conversation was going to be epic…just like the Expedition.

2015 Ford ExpeditionMany eyes lit up when I said it was the 2015.  Bold in its stance, the Expedition has a very commanding presence with its massive 3-bar chrome grille flanked by the Ford badging in the center and chiseled lines that frame the hood. The way the headlights melt into the outer edges of the grille and wrap around the corners give the Expedition a fashion-forward appeal. Like any ensemble that catches the eye, sitting on 22” polished aluminum rims, the Expedition rocks out on all fronts. Honeycomb lower vents is not only cool, they are also functional for airflow and fuel economy.

Powerful and statuesque, the Expedition is backed by a 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6 engine paired with a 6-speed Select-Shift Auto Transmission.  While the size is massive, the drive didn’t feel like I was tooling around in a tank. Strong in the straight a ways and smooth while roving around town, the Expedition makes it presence known.  Producing a respectable 18 (combined) MPG, the Expedition won’t have you flat lining at the pump.

Paired with the size of the Expedition, the safety features add a greater level of safety and security. Airbags including: Side Impact and a Safety Canopy, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, LATCH, Tire Pressure Monitors, Blind Spot Info System and a SOS Post Crash Alert System offer up a well rounded sense of security.

exp_int_fordThe interior of the Expedition is where all the oohs and ahs lived. A variety of friends marveled at the 8-passenger seating arrangement. Never getting to experience the “passenger” perspective, I appreciated candid input from friends who came along for the ride.

ford_exp_int_3rdHaving seating for eight with a power third row was definitely a plus. The ease of prepping for more passengers or effortlessly adding extra cargo space was the press of a button away. High quality leather from the front bucket seats (with 10-Way Driver Memory) to the middle row and flowing back to the third row, the Expedition offered an incredible and luxurious experience. Everyone was comfortable with the schizophrenic weather changes via he Dual Zone Electronic Climate Control, heated and cooled front bucket seats and the heated second row seats.

2015_ford_expedition_dashThe inner cabin was also a roving music hall via the Sony Premium Stereo System and SYNC with MYFORD TOUCH. While cruising through playlists filled with my favorite artists like Anthony Hamilton, Maxwell and Emeli Sande, the speakers thumped and bumped out my personal listening session. Stocked with cool features like Rear View Camera, Voice-Activated Navigation, Steering Wheel Mounted Controls and Full Color Display, the Expedition fires on all cylinders. Riding high and in control, the Expedition will appeal the driver who wants style, space and functionality.

While the ride, ultra cool interior and overall style of the Expedition Limited 4X2 where great, two of my favorite features were the ones that catered to the vertically challenged…like moi! The Power Deploy Running Board and the Adjustable Pedals w/Memory knocked it out the park for me. Talk about leveling the playing field. Thanks for remembering the little guy or in this case, the little diva!
