I can remember watching a particular episode Family Ties as a teenager when the Keatons were looking to get a new car. When Steven and Elyse decided on the ‘dreaded’ minivan, I laughed at Alex saying it looked like a ‘refrigerator on wheels’. Well we can definitely say that is NOT the case with 2015 Toyota Sienna SE Premium Edition.
The Sienna has so much swag and personality that it has changed the lexicon for the description of minivans. Terms like “Swagger Wagon” may have been created for tongue-and-cheek references, but it soooooo fits. One wouldn’t think to equate “sporty” when talking about minivans, but the SE trim level is just that.
Elongated lines that sweep from the front mesh and chrome-framed grille and drop like the perfect beat in the rear give the Sienna a modern appearance. Blacked out windows on whisper-quiet doors, 19” 6-spoke Alloy Wheels, Smoked-Chrome Auto On/Off Headlights, LED Running Lights, Power Tilt and Slide Moon roof, rear spoiler and sleek taillights add to the futuristic vibe of the Sienna SE.
While you won’t be headed to the Daytona 500, you MOST-definitely won’t be stuck in the soccer mom lane either. The ride was comfortable and easy to maneuver in various driving conditions (highway, city and even tight mall parking lots). The V-6, 3.5-liter engine pack s power coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The combined (21-MPG) mileage is cool for the size of the minivan.
Even with the major changes in the design cues, the Sienna SE still has the commitment to being safe as well as stylish. The award-winning Star Safety System just adds to the overall appeal of the Sienna SE. Enhanced Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-Lock Brake System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Brake Assist and Smart Stop Technology have you riding in a stylish fortress.
The interior of the Sienna is classy and fun. Seating for 8, the Sienna offers second row Captain Chairs with Stowable Center Seat offers plenty of legroom and comfort. The 60/40 Split and Stow feature creates easy access to the third row. The dash is futuristic with driver-friendly controls and cutting-edge technology. The 7″ High Resolution Entune touchscreen is easy to navigate with large icons.
With the new design and overall technological advances Toyota has made sure the Sienna will be free of labels…especially a fridge on wheels. Take that Alex P. Keaton!
