Silly Boys, Trucks Are For Girls…Too!
The redesigned 2015 Ford F-150 4×4 SuperCab brings back memories of hanging out with my dad and my uncles. Living in the Motor City, somebody in your family always had a pickup truck. Whether it was going fishing or helping someone move, a truck was a staple in my family. I enjoyed the closeness they offered sitting up in the front cabin and the “I can conquer any terrain” mentality. Ford has rekindled and expanded my love the beloved “pickup” truck.
This truck is massive, (even though its lighter than previous models) but not too much for the 4’11 Car Diva to handle. The first thing that stopped me in my tracks was the bangin’ grille and headlights. The Chrome Three-Bar Style with Chrome Nostrils frames like a sharp lined-up goatee. Bold lines, run the length of the full aluminum body and give off a powerful persona. The powerful persona is brought all the way home with 2.7 L, V6 EcoBoost engine that pops off with 325 ponies and 255 lb-ft of torque. Considering the power, a combined 20-MPG, the F-150 is not afraid to skip a gas station or two. Lighter and more agile than previous models, the slimming down adds to a more fluid drive. The Electric 4×4 Shift-On-The-Fly offer up seamless driving options. The pick up (insert pun here) is head snapping and Hill Start Assist gives a lil more oomph to get going on inclines. All that power was delivered in smooth intervals via an Electric 6-Speed Auto Transmission.
Rock n’ Rollin’ down the road, the F-150 is a real sexy beast; even on the inside. Sexy and stylish are terms that aren’t usually attributed to trucks, but Ford is changing the game…again! Firm, but comfortable seats had me riding high – tapping into my inner Napoleon Complex. Punched up features like LED-Side Mirror Spotlights, 18” wheels, Rearview Camera, SECURICODE Keyless Key Pad, a plethora of Power features including: windows, tailgate locks, Rack and Pinion Steering and locks. It would appear that Ford’s designers redirected most of their energy on pleasing the driver…first. The access to the console and controls are very driver-friendly without any over exertions. As always, the SYNC system never fails with its adaptive and savvy system.
Safety is not left behind with the F-150’s revision. Front and side mounted airbags, tire pressure monitors, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes w/ABS, Trailer Sway Control, a Perimeter Alarm, MYKEY and in the even of an accident the SOS Post Crash Alert System.
Ford has also tapped into one of my favorite and sometimes overlooked features …the little things. The tailgate step and the ‘thank God’ for the Chrome Step bar, 110-volt/400-watt Power Inverter for that extra bit of juice.
The 2015 F-150 4×4 SuperCab is every girl’s dream. Check it out here.
