2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium

The 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium SUV is just that…premium! Known for its “take on the world” attitude, the Forester has an understated charm about it. Cool lines with a monochromatic style and 17-inch wheels; the Forester is more substance than flash.

The standard and optional safety features are where the Forester really makes its mark is in the SUV segment. Preventative safety measures run rampant throughout the design of the Forester. Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes w/Brake Assist, Subaru’s Advanced Frontal Air Bag System, Brake Override System, Rollover Sensors, Safety Pedal System and Whiplash Protection Front Seats. One new feature that has been added to Subaru’s culture and commitment to safety is the EyeSight Diver Assist System.

Subaru EyeSight

First introduced in 2012, EyeSight has proven to be an upgrade well worth the cost ($1,295 as part of the Option Package 14). The “extra set of eyes” gives off an audible warning when the vehicle is veering off the road, allowing the driver to correct their driving.  Additional features of EyeSight include Pre-Collision Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Sway Warning, and Pre-Collision Throttle Management System. Testimonials on the Subaru site give first-hand accounts of the life-saving aspects of EyeSight.

Subaru Forester 2.5i Engine

Powering the Forester is 2.5 Liter Horizontally-Opposed DOHC engine that grips its way up and around terrains.  The drive of the Forester was easy and not too rugged.  While I didn’t get to any mountain ranges, the abundant amount of potholes in Los Angeles proved to be a great test of the Forester’s ability to tackle uneven surfaces with ease. Rolling around in the city and the on the highways offered 170 ponies and up a combined 27 MPG, pretty cool for an SUV.

Dash with Color Multi-Function Display

The interior of is filled with all the creature comforts of city and long distance driving like Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, AM/FM Stereo HD Radio w/ CD Player, Rear Vision Camera, Power Everything (doors, windows, seats), Color Multi-function Display and a very handy 12v outlet in the dash, console and cargo area.

A favorite feature was the Air Conditioner with the Ar Filtration System. This was a God-send stuck while driving stuck behind livestock transport truck. Woo hoo!

The Subaru is sporty with charm to boot.
